How to Rebuild Focus in Distracted World

Deep work needs environment design, not guilt.

Focus is a skill atrophied by interruption economies. Rebuild with reps like any muscle—short at first.

Environment: clear desk, single monitor task, phone in another room, website blockers during blocks, noise rules with household.

Time: 25–90 minute blocks on one meaningful task before email. Protect morning if possible.

Recovery: sleep, exercise, and breaks prevent fake focus (staring while tired).

Align work with values—focus is hard when you secretly hate the project. Sometimes the fix is strategic quit.
